Intercollegiate and Professional Sport Management Master’s Degree
The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Intercollegiate and Professional Sport Management prepares graduates for leadership and management-level careers in college, amateur, and professional sport organizations and events. This program is distinguished by its inclusion of topics in professional and intercollegiate athletics with specialization areas such as diversity in sport leadership, sport analytics, and governance. Students can tailor their learning experience to best fit their future goals by choosing a sequence of courses emphasizing either intercollegiate athletics or professional sport management.
Since its launch in 2020, the program has expanded from just 6 students to over 60. Participants have not only gained invaluable hands-on experience through paid internships with Las Vegas’ first Super Bowl and its championship teams, but they have also had opportunities to tour world-class venues and participate in premier programs such as Sports Business Classroom’s Business of Basketball. With interest in sports at an all-time high, this program is ideal for graduates looking to prepare for the wide range of career opportunities in the industry.

Undergraduate Certificate in Sport Leadership and Management
Sport is a multi-billion dollar industry that requires professionals with a range of management and leadership skills. Through the Sport Leadership and Management Certificate students will be prepared to assume the responsibilities for developing professional and amateur athletes and managing sports programs in a variety of academic, public and private sectors. Career opportunities exist in intercollegiate athletics, professional sport, major sports events, community-based sport, community relations, and sports marketing, ticket sales, and promotion.



Sports Business Classroom Business of Basketball Program
Sports Business Classroom, in partnership with the UNLV Sports Innovation Institute and Taco Bell Foundation/Diversified Restaurant Group, offered 10 UNLV students enrolled in the IPSM program the opportunity to earn a Certificate in the Business of Basketball. The program aims to develop the basketball business stars of tomorrow by offering an immersive educational and training experience designed by the basketball industry’s leading professionals.
To obtain the Business of Basketball Certification, students attended Sports Business Classroom’s Business of Basketball Immersive Experience, an annual program which takes place during NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The five students who completed the program in 2023 were Solomon Escalante, Bryce Hinton, Kimya Oliver, Ramon Peralta, and Ashley Scoggin. The five students who completed the program in 2024 were Grant Ward, BJ Pitts, Akash Prinja, Mitchell Scanlan, and Kiara Kilgo-Washington.
