News 3 Las Vegas covered Rep. Susie Lee’s efforts to secure funding for UNLV Sports Innovation.
From the story:
Sports research over at UNLV is getting a big boost from a local lawmaker. On Tuesday, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) presented a check for $3.25 million to UNLV’s Sports Research and Innovation Initiative to support local students pushing the boundaries of sports research. Lee said that the project funding not only supports the growing sports scene in Vegas but also pushes towards diversifying the economy in Nevada. The $3.25 million in federal funding will enable UNLV to purchase a High Performance Computer (HPC) and develop related curriculum development to expand the university’s capacity for advanced sports research and education, from brain health to sports performance and e-sports.
